Give Later – But Make an Impact Now!
April 24, 2025
The new Dundas Manor is being built today because of the
support of legacy gifts. Although these special gifts won’t be received for
years, they are essential to reaching our campaign goal and making the
construction of the new home a reality now.
Just ask Earl Windsor. He is a Dundas Manor volunteer and a
legacy donor and he says he is inspired to give because of the residents and
the staff: “The new home will still have the closeness feel that Dundas Manor
has now. The new home will be better, but we won't lose that feeling of
closeness. There is a friendship at Dundas Manor. We won't ever lose
that."
“Whether giving for personal fulfillment, to show gratitude,
or to benefit from charitable tax benefits, legacy gifts are important in
supporting excellent care for our community,” explains Erin Kapcala, Manager of
Major and Planned Giving at the WDMH Foundation. “Thank you to our legacy
donors like Earl who are making a long-term commitment to the new Dundas
Manor.”
As construction of the new Dundas Manor continues, the WDMH
Foundation is working with the home’s designers to create a special recognition
display for Dundas Manor legacy donors. This will be featured prominently in
the new home and will include the names of legacy donors who wish to be
recognized.
Erin explains the importance of choosing to leave a legacy:
"Each legacy gift is unique, meaningful, and has a profound impact. We are
honoured that donors choose to include the WDMH Foundation as part of their
legacy. Legacy donors always have the choice to direct their gift to support
Dundas Manor, Winchester District Memorial Hospital, both, or to the area of
greatest need at the time their gift is received."
“You'll never regret it. Your gift will live on. It's a
lifetime gift,” sums up Earl Windsor.
