Inpatient Unit

• If you are being admitted, you will be transferred from the Recovery Room to your assigned inpatient bed. A summary of your surgery and recovery will be provided to the receiving Nurse who will be caring for you.
• Your care partner may be waiting for you in your room.
• Your Nurse will complete an assessment including your temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure. Your pain and nausea will be assessed. The Nurse will give you medication for pain and nausea as needed.
• Continue with your deep breathing coughing and leg exercises. The Nurse will assist you in getting up out of bed.
• We will review your post-operative teaching instructions with you and your care partner prior to going home.
